I grew up in a host of countries and attended schools in Hong Kong, Switzerland, Nigeria, and America; ultimately getting my Bachelor's degree in Economics and a Juris Doctorate degree from my hometown university, the University of Oregon, U.S.A. I also obtained a Post-Graduate degree in International Education from Nottingham University, U.K. My life experiences and educational background had set me up for what I had envisioned my career path to be; a career in the legal field. However, plans often go awry as was the case with me.

Sometimes people stumble into a career path purely by accident. This was the case for me when it came to teaching. My original career path was in the legal field and I was well on my way on this path when I had an opportunity to come to China for a few months. I had an opportunity to be a teacher for six months but as it turns out, six months has now become six years.  What changed for me was the joy and personal satisfaction I got when I saw the growth and improvement in my students. Oftentimes I am asked what my favorite thing about living in China is and my answer has always been my students. I have been lucky to have had amazing students over the years who have shown a dedication to learn and improve themselves. This has made my job so much easier with no regrets over this new career path.

In my spare time I enjoy playing football, writing, and traveling around China learning about its rich history and culture. Ningbo University, College of Science and Technology has been a truly wonderful place to work and to be a part of.
