Hello! My name is Felicia Noyes-Kapembeza. I am a passionate and enthusiastic individual who aims to achieve the best in life. I grew up in a small town in the United States of America. I developed a passion for all things media related and eventually moved to the city to pursue those passions. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Southern Maine, USA. It was there that I received a Bachelors Degree in Communication and Media Studies. I worked in management for a few companies in the States, before receiving my certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. It was then, that I decided to move to China and start a new and exciting chapter in my life.

Desiring to see the world, moving to China helped open up many doors and new opportunities for me. Cixi was where I began my new adventure: teaching children and adults English as a foreign language. I, eventually, moved to Yuyao, where I continued to teach English, as well as some new subjects. I was awarded the: “Best Foreign Teacher” award my first semester at the new school and after a year working there, was promoted to Foreign Teacher Manager. My duties included, but were not limited to: overseeing all foreign teachers and activities, training new and old teachers, organizing new curriculums and events for the school. After working there for a few years, I decided to move back to Cixi, my “China hometown;” where I continued to teach. In total, I have taught in China for over 8 years.

In 2023, I started working at Ningbo University: College of Science and Technology as a Professor of Advertising. I use a variety of different teaching techniques in my classes, as every student has an unique learning style. I use a combination of lecture-based, task-based and discussion-based methods in my classes. Between these three methods, I aim to help every student reach their full potential.

Beyond teaching, my interests and passions are abundant. China helped spark a love for travelling and since moving here, I have now visited almost 10 new countries, as well as travelled all throughout China. When I’m not on a new adventure, I enjoy filling my time with video editing, drawing, playing tennis, competing in dance competitions, or just playing video games with my husband.

Overall, I am a creative and dedicated teacher who enjoys learning from her students, just as much as I enjoy teaching them.
